Cornerstone FundraiserHelp Fight Cystic FibrosisCystic fibrosis is a life-threatening, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and progressively limits the ability to breathe or break down food and absorb vital nutrients.5th Grader, Megan Grainger, has been living with this disease throughout her 6 years at Country Lane, needing to take medication before she eats any food in order to help her digest properly. In her honor, our Cornerstone kids have organized a donation drive to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in order to help fight this disease.Great Strides is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s largest national fundraising event. Each year, more than 125,000 people participate in hundreds of walks across the country to support the Foundation’s mission to cure cystic fibrosis. The funds raised from Great Strides helps provide people with CF the opportunity to lead full, productive lives by funding research and drug development, promoting individualized treatment and ensuring access to high-quality, specialized care. The local Great Strides 5k walk to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2016 in Guadalupe Park in San Jose. Several of Megan's family members will be walking in her name, raising money for the foundation. Their team name is "Walking for Megan." They have raised $45 so far and their goal is $1,500.
