Saturday, May 7: Come make stuff at The Tech! This event is for girls — along with their siblings and parents! — to come be inspired by projects made by other young people. Technology and engineering will come together for maker activities like laser-cutting with TechShop San Jose, stop-motion animation with VidCode, imagining a habitat for Mars with Okada Design and making video games with Girls Make Games. Girls Day offerings are drop-in and free with admission!
Wednesday, May 11: What would society gain from having more women and minorities in tech, and how do we get there? Watch the documentary “CODE: Debugging the Gender Gap” and hear a panel discussion — moderated by Gretchen Walker, The Tech’s Vice President of Education — on a topic that’s central to Silicon Valley’s future.
